cheese & crackers

I looked, and it’s been a long while since I really whined about anything so I’m kinda due….

Hooked up the new house phone a few days ago…. got my first sales call yesterday. Only took ’em 2 weeks to get the new number on a list and pass it around.

Yay caller ID.

got my first ‘or current resident’ mail today
I say ‘my’ because previously it was all addressed to someone else or current resident. Now it’s addressed to me or current resident

Asking nicely

Hey Ranger RayBan…
The rules say unloaded and stored; for permit holders too?
Huh ?
Pay attention Narcissus – F i r e a r m s
Oh, you’re not supposed to have those in the park.
So unloaded and stored O. K. ?
Pause uh gulp uh yeah ok

New Dr

If you can’t deal with calculating my copayment there’s no way I’m letting you participate in my care.

If it is your policy to not call the insurance co because you don’t have adequate staff but you can argue for 15 min you deserve to lose the business.

healthcare rodeo

today we have to call the VA to tell them NO, in fact HELL NO. you will not change my medication from the thing that works to some other thing. AGAIN.

I’ve done it 3 times already … budget cuts or some other BS arbitrary decision by someone I’ve never met to decide what’s available, what’s cheapest, or whats approved.

I served my time. I earned my benefits. I don’t want to be sick and I surely don’t enjoy being sick. Anyone that thinks I will give up the meds that work, that I had to fight to get in the first place and then fight to keep and then do it all over again is deluded.

call the number on the memo

call back from the P.A. @ the local clinic

now, let it be known at this point I’m pretty sure none of this is his fault. This was a decision at some point way up high about which pharmaceutical company to do business with and I’m only bothering him at this point because his nurse doesn’t know wtf is going on (in either language, I suspect).

we’ll sum up his patronizing offensive comments as rudeness, arrogance, condescension, etc and let it go

oooooh … no, wait …. let’s not let it go…. what was that you said?

WTF? um, excuse me doc, that’s not my opinion, its documented recorded researched fact.

“I won’t be yelled at” click  (I was not yelling. I’ll admit to a non-relaxed tone yes. Elevated volume, yes. Yelling, no.)

pause for rapid travel

Hello I’m here to see Mr. —– … in regards to the conversation he and I just had on the phone. …. I’ll wait.

coward owes me an apology

From Patient rights and responsibilities

I. Respect and Nondiscrimination
You will be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect as an individual.

III. Participation in Treatment Decisions
You, and any persons you choose, will be involved in all decisions about your care.

IV. Complaints
You may complain verbally or in writing, without fear of retaliation.

My patience has ended. I know they are sorry they haven’t managed to kill me yet. While I have to respect their tenacity I am not giving up without a fight. It would be the same anyplace else.

I want the service I paid for or I want my money back.

Oh and btw … while I’m waiting for you to make a decision on that.. I won’t be tricked into breaking the law & going to jail either. My thanks to the responding officer for his professionalism. While he did not do anything other than observe and verify a resolution he could have caused the situation to escalate into something else entirely.

more internet security fraud

Trend Micro charged my account today.

Not for the discounted renewal price advertised on their website…

Not for the discounted renewal price given to customers with auto-renewal (which is more than the advertised price)

They charged me for the full price.

this is a problem

see, last year I canceled auto-renewal. After receiving the auto renewal notice for this year I went back through my archived emails and found the email dated 4/1/2009 that states:

As you requested, we terminated automatic renewal of your subscription

I also called them Monday, as I stated in my previous post, because I received an auto-renewal notice. The result of Monday’s call was unsatisfactory and I’m pretty sure the idiot customer non-service rep was informed that I was no longer doing business with Trend Micro.

I’m pretty sure,  because, y’know, I was there, m’kay, and I heard all the words coming out of my mouth.

I canceled it. .. They ignored me

When I got an email notice that they were going to do it anyway I tried to cancel it again. … They ignored me.

I got charged anyway…. overcharged in fact. Apparently for my own good.

how very governmental big business has become

internet security

my Trend Micro Anti-Virus program subscription is about to expire.

how do I know?

there’s an auto generated email notification in my inbox and an alert in my system tray.

The problem: I don’t know which credit card they are planning to automatically charge. I don’t normally put internet purchases on auto-billing.

The solution (Plan A): I need to visit my online profile at their website and see where the charge will be going.

Except, there is no ‘edit/view billing information’ option available in my profile. Someone was really thinking on that one.

Plan B: call customer service and get some desk jockey to fire up their magic box and see which card is on file.

Except, there is no live person at the customer service option in the auto answer phone maze. It refers me to the webpage where they have a direct line number listed.

Except they don’t have a direct line (or any line) listed on that page.

Now, as a side effect of poking around their website, I find a page that shows the price for renewing a subscription.

Imagine my surprise disappointment when I discover (in keeping with big business ethical practices) the email in my inbox is offering me a ‘discounted’ renewal price that is greater than the price on the website.

so, if I click the link in the email for renewal I spend more money than if I go to their website and do it manually.

you liberals are probably wondering what the problem is here…….

Finale: when I finally get some idiot customer service professional on the phone and ask about the price disparity, the reply was ‘well that’s your choice’. The moral concept of a misleading email from a SECURITY COMPANY trying to take advantage of my trust was completely lost on this guy apparently.

Damn right its my choice. In fact, you moronic, foreign, phone politician it is my friggin choice to do business with your company AT ALL.

sigh… anyone want to recommend a good AV program?
