Went down to the JCSSA range today. It was much closer and easier to find than I had anticipated. Which means I can go more often (if they let me join someday).
Arrived just as they were starting to finish up the competition for the day. Which means everyone had their range fix and were pretty much standing around/packing up. Ideal for the rookie to strike up conversations and soak up info.
Picked up some basic club info, read the range rules, met a few of the regulars, and got to watch a couple guys adjust the sights on some new purchases.
Today’s lesson — Binoculars are handy. Walking down range to check the target after every 3 rounds sucks bad when its 95 degrees. Sittin’ in the shade is better.
